This page will walk you through everything you need to set up your device, secure your assets, and start using Ledger Live — your all-in-one crypto management app. Let's dive in!

📦 Step 1: Unbox Your Ledger Device

Inside your Ledger Nano S Plus or Nano X box, you should find:

• 1 Ledger hardware wallet
• 1 USB cable
• Recovery sheets (very important!)
• Instruction guide
• Keychain accessories (optional)

Make sure your box is sealed when you receive it. If the seal is broken or missing, do not use the device and contact Ledger Support immediately.

⚙️ Step 2: Set Up Your Ledger Device

1. Plug your Ledger device into your computer or mobile phone using the USB cable or Bluetooth (Nano X only).
2. Turn on the device by holding the button(s).
3. Choose “Set up as new device”.
4. Create a secure PIN code (4-8 digits). You’ll use this to unlock your device.

🔒 Tip: Never share your PIN or recovery phrase with anyone — not even Ledger!

📝 Step 3: Write Down Your Recovery Phrase

Your device will now display a 24-word recovery phrase. This is the only way to recover your crypto if your Ledger is lost, stolen, or damaged.

• Write each word in order on the provided recovery sheet.
• Double-check spelling and sequence.
• Store the sheet in a safe, offline location.

🚫 Never take a photo or store your recovery phrase on your phone or computer. Online = unsafe.

💻 Step 4: Download Ledger Live

Ledger Live is the official companion app for managing your crypto assets.

1. Go to ledger.com/start (you’re already here!)
2. Click “Download Ledger Live” for your OS (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, or Android).
3. Install and open the app.

📲 Ledger Live is the only safe place to manage your Ledger device and your assets. Avoid unofficial apps or websites!

✅ Step 5: Pair Your Device with Ledger Live

When you first open Ledger Live, it will guide you through pairing your device. Here's what to do:

• Connect your Ledger wallet via USB or Bluetooth.
• Confirm your device setup using the built-in security check.
• If everything is okay, Ledger Live will confirm your device is genuine.

💰 Step 6: Add Accounts & Receive Crypto

Now it's time to add your first crypto account.

1. Open Ledger Live and click "Accounts".
2. Choose the crypto you want to manage (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).
3. Follow the prompts to install the app on your device and create an account.
4. Click "Receive", verify the address on your Ledger device, and share it to receive funds.

💡 Always double-check the address on your Ledger device screen before sending or receiving crypto!

With your Ledger and Ledger Live, you can do more than just store your crypto.

• Use a hardware wallet for long-term holding

🚨 If someone asks for your 24 words, they are trying to scam you. Stop. Disconnect. Report.
